Gerald White
Gerald White has been involved in health issues in Canada for approximately 25 years in his capacity as former Assistant Deputy Minister of Health in Newfoundland and Labrador. He was responsible for program and policy issues within the province, including liaison responsibilities for various professional associations. He was a Director of the Janeway Children's Hospital and is currently a Director of St. Patrick's Mercy Home, a long-term care facility in St. John's. He was a member of the founding Board of the Canadian Institute for Health Information, a member of the Board of the Canadian Blood Agency, a participant in the restructuring of the Canadian blood system in the late 1990s, and later interim advisor on government relations to Canadian Blood Services. Internationally, Mr. White was a member of the Executive Committee of the Canadian/American Northeast Health Council, which promoted collaboration on health policy issues between the Eastern Provinces and the New England States. He was a member of several delegations from Canada to international forums, including delegations to the World Health Assembly and the International Labour Organization, Geneva, and to meetings of Commonwealth Health Ministers. Mr. White has a BComm from Memorial University of Newfoundland. |
