Ingrid Sketris
Dr. Ingrid Sketris, PhD is a licensed pharmacist and professor at Dalhousie University. She is a fellow of the Canadian Society of Hospital Pharmacists, the American College of Clinical Pharmacy, and the National Academies of Practice in the US, where she is one of just two Canadian pharmacist fellows. Dr. Sketris is on the Editorial Board of the Canadian Journal of Clinical Pharmacology. Her active research aims to determine the effect of drug policies on drug use and costs, and also to compare drug use and expenditures between Australia and Canada. Dr. Sketris has won several awards for her research and clinical practice, including those from the Canadian Society of Hospital Pharmacy and the Nova Scotia Pharmaceutical Society. She is the recipient of the Association of Pharmacy in Canada's Pfizer Research Career Award, the Women of Excellence Award for Education and Research, the Canadian Pharmacists Association Centennial Award, the Health Services Administration Alumni Mentor Award, and the Dr. Jessie I. MacKnight Award for Teaching Excellence in Pharmacy. She is a graduate of the University of Toronto, BSc (Phm), 1977; the University of Minnesota, Pharm D, 1979; the University of Tennessee, Centre for Health Sciences (Residency in Clinical Toxicology/Pharmacy Practice, 1980) and Dalhousie University, MPA (HSA), 1989. |
